General Care
The Guinea pig is a fairly easy animal to look after.
Feeding
Guinea pigs diet should be dry food with fruit and veg given every few days. Dry food comes in many different types including pellets, nuggets and a dry food mix. Choosing any of these is fine, but nuggets and pellets are really the same things but with different names. The best really is these types as this stops the guinea pig from picking the food that they like and thus the animal gets all the nutrients it needs. Here is a list of vegetables and fruits that can be fed to guinea pigs:Carrots, Celery, Brocolli, Cauliflower(only the leaves and stalk), Parsley, Apple(only in small quantities as can cause mouth sores), Pear, Strawberry and Honeydew melon. Hay should always be available for Guinea pigs as it aids digestion and Guinea pigs love burrowing in it. Wild plants can be fed aswell, these include:Dandilion, Grass, Watercress, Cow parsley etc. Also there are poisonous plants aswell including:Buttercup, Daffodil, Nettle and Bulb plants.
